“Caricaturas y grabados: 100 años de la Constitución Mexicana,” an exhibit including cartoons related to the 100th anniversary of the Mexican political constitution, was inaugurated February 3rd with a talk featuring cartoonist Rafael Barajas “El Fisgón.” Link (Spanish, FGG)

“Kalimanías,” an exhibit organized by Comikaze magazine featuring 44 illustrations celebrating popular superhero Kalimán has opened to the public at the Hidalgo metro station in downtown Mexico City and will remain on view until April 23rd. Celebrating the 10th year anniversary of its comics collection, Editorial Resistencia presented a new edition of Comixtlán, by Luis Fernando, at the international book fair at Palacio de Minería. Comixtlán is included in Paul Gravett’s 1001 Comics You Must Read Before You Die (2011). La sombra justiciera· Episodios completos de super aventuras policiacas, a weekly comic book inspired by Walter B. Gibson’s The Shadow, and published in Mexico in 1965 by Ediciones Hecky, has been catalogued in the specialized Spanish website Tebeosfera. Link (Spanish, FGG)

Until the 29th April  an exhibition of comic works, cartoons, caricatures and other creative ravings of Phermad (aka Fernando Madeira) is taking place in Galeria LAR. The exhibition is titled “UM PLANETA RESILIENTE – Fragmentos com humor de um planeta não muito distante” (A resilient planet –humourous fragments of a planet not very distant.) and is not adviced for the public under 12 years old.
